Feline Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test

1. INTENDED USE

Feline Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test is a test cassette to diagnose the presence of Feline Leukemia virus antigens (FeLV Ag) in cat’s blood specimen.

Assay Time: 5 - 10 min

Sample: Serum, plasma, or whole blood.

1. PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY

Feline Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay.

1. KIT COMPONENT

• Foil pouches, each containing one cassette, one 40μLpipette and a desiccant
• Assay buffer tubes
• ×1μL capillary dropper
• ×Centrifugal tubes
• 1×Product Manual

1. SPECIMEN PREPARATION AND STORAGE

1. 1.Specimen should be obtained and treated as below.

• Serum or plasma: collect the whole blood from the patient cat, centrifuge it to get the plasma, or place the whole blood into a tube which contains anticoagulants to get serum.

1. 2.All specimen should be tested immediately. If not for testing right now, they should be stored at 2-8℃.

1. TEST PROCEDURE

• Allow all materials, including specimen and test device, recover to 15-25℃ before running the assay.
• Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
• Using the 10μL capillary dropper to place 1 drop (approx.10μL) of the prepared specimen into the sample hole “S” of the test device. Then use the 40μLpipette to drop 2 drops (approx. 80μL) of the assay buffer into the sample hole immediately.
• Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 10 minutes is considered as invalid.

1. INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

Positive: The presence of both C band and T band, no matter T band is clear or vague.

Negative: Only clear C band appears.

Invalid: No colored band appears in C zone, no matter whether T band appears.

6.STORAGE

The kit can be stored at room temperature (2-30°C). The test kit is stable through the expiration date (18 months) marked on the foil pouch. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store the test kit in direct sunlight.

7.   PRECAUTIONS

• All reagents must be at room temperature before running the assay.
• Do not remove test cassette from its pouch until immediately before use.
• Do not use the test beyond its expiration date.
• The components in this kit have been quality control tested as standard batch unit. Do not mix components from different lot numbers.
• All specimens are of potential infection. It must be strictly treated according to the rules and regulations by local states.

8.   LIMITATION

Feline Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test is for in vitro veterinary diagnosis use only. All results should be considered with other clinical information available from veterinarian. It is suggested to apply a further confirmative method such as PCR when positive result was observed.
